What my boss said was \u201cI\u2019m sorry you reacted how you did, but these are just our traditions, and if you don\u2019t like it and can\u2019t accept it, you should go back to where you came from.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pot\u00e9 co jsem dostala p\u0159es nohy poml\u00e1zkou od m\u00e9ho nad\u0159\u00edzen\u00e9ho ignoruj\u00edc\u00edho, jak k\u0159i\u010d\u00edm \u201cNe!\u201d, po\u017eadoval m\u016fj man\u017eel od m\u00e9ho \u0161\u00e9fa omluvu. Men get resentful when women complain about how they have been victimized. Women get angry from the effects of trauma, whether due to little isolated incidents or dramatic attacks. Even as we try to participate in conversations, people tend to equivocate some very loaded terms. Especially when all those words like vice, sin, responsibility are so loaded with personal and societal connotations. When discussing movements like Me Too or Black Lives Matter, it is even more intimidating. This is natural, we are pack animals with a few natural predators (though nothing poses a greater risk to us than our own stupidity). Our ancestors needed to be able to react immediately and evaluate risk quickly. But the fact is that we are not in that situation we are observing, and we do not have the lived experience of the other person in that situation. Of course we would not react like they do. But we cannot say for certain that we would not react the same were we in their shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lidem p\u0159\u00edli\u0161 nejde empatie. Ale jde o to, \u017ee \u010dasto posuzujeme situace ve kter\u00e9 sami nejsme a nem\u00e1me s n\u00ed p\u0159\u00edmou zku\u0161enost. Samoz\u0159ejm\u011b, \u017ee bychom reagovali jinak, ale z\u00e1rove\u0148 nem\u016f\u017eeme \u00fapln\u011b vylou\u010dit, \u017ee bysme se nezachovali stejn\u011b, kdybychom byli v jejich k\u016f\u017ei.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Resist fearing the threat of the unfamiliar. Approach that which is different with curiosity and a willingness to listen. Be kind to others, and to yourself. You are at once perfectly special and perfectly the same as everyone else.
